Le Chateau Nice

To get the best panoramic view of Nice, France—a climb to the Le Chateau should be in order. The Le Chateau is actually a castle perched on a high, rocky hill. It was used to overlook Nice’s port until it was closed in 1706. Now, it is mainly a tourist site for visitors who want to glimpse the charming Old Town part of Nice, France.

Le Chateau has sprawling grounds and greeneries which consist of a playground, some Roman ruins and even a waterfall. The castle also provides a breathtaking view of the rest of the Mediterranean coastline. To get here, you can walk all the 213 steps from the Quai des Etats Unis. But if you find climbing to be a challenge, there is also an elevator which can take you to the peak.
